This tool benchmarks indicative Visa and Mastercard scheme fees (assessment fees, network access fees, and brand fees) by region and card type. Scheme fees are charged by Visa and Mastercard to acquirers on top of interchange. They include items such as the acquirer service fee, network access and brand usage fee (NABU), data service fee, misuse of authorisation fee, and cross-border assessment fees.
Important: Scheme fees are distinct from interchange. This tool models scheme fees only. For interchange modelling use T225 (Visa/MC Interchange Qualification Tester). Combined cost of acceptance = interchange + scheme fees + acquirer processing margin.
⚠ Fee rates shown are indicative benchmarks based on published Visa and Mastercard fee schedules as of the last review date. Actual fees vary by acquirer agreement, volume tier, and specific programme. Always verify with your acquirer's current fee schedule. Last Reviewed: 2026-05-09.
